the degree confluence project

The goal of the DCP is to visit each of the world’s whole integer latitude and longitude intersections, and to take photographs to document each location. The pictures and stories about these visits can be found at www.confluence.org.

Beginning with a trip to Kobuk Valley National Park in 2003, I have visited 81 of these confluence points in seven different countries.

My first contribution to the Degree Confluence Project was one of Alaska’s 388 whole integer latitude/longitude intersections. This point is located above the Arctic Circle in the Kobuk Valley National Park. A report of our visit can be found here.
